I will be leaving this site soon. I've tried Eclipse and I REALLLY hate the interface. The statement by the devs about 'can't keep the old interface' is a whole lot of hogwash. I've created interfaces,, and it's not hard to build a more up to date version of classic, keeping much of the same layout and adding functionality. Twitter allows you to alter the color schemes to a light version or a dark - a choice. You'd think an Art site would understand color pallets and choice! I understand the 'old interface' is patch up mess...but come on now....you could EASILY make the 'new' UI a bit more like Classic UI, or AT LEAST color select-able.

You know….I REALLLY hate the holidays.

Well…dread them is more accurate.

Things ALWAYS happen and it seems to start the same way every holiday: yoyos at work who absolutely have got to squeeze in things in before it goes off…resulting in twice the workload!

...and it ALWAYS goes wrong! NO EXCEPTION! The week before Turkey day was 13 hour days at one job...followed by 4 hour days at the second job.

I AM BEAT!-By that and what followed.

Family got a call for help right before the bird was done cooking...about something folks were hit with that they did not bring it on themselves.

The rains in North Texas have been crazy all week and weekend (like they were 20 years ago...it runs in cycles here). Flooding occurred south of DFW and friends of ours called MAYDAY as their house was flooding! So after getting the fishing waders, my canoe and a couple of pre packed kits off we went to save a family.

At least I earned my hero badge honestly.

I've done flooding before (hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and a few heavy storms here). So it's old drill...so to speak. Nothing like taking cold wet animals (like cats and dogs) to shore with there love and hate of you at the same time.

So...FYI I have been HELA busy and not ignoring anyone...but net surfing is hard in 1 meter of water.

's picture of her OC creating constructs in SFM was amazing...and since I was just starting in SFM myself...and writing Blackest Night Equestria, I had to know how it was done. She was helpful and told me how. It worked well, but it was a bear to animate with. So I went looking for another way and she gave me an idea of what was needed and why...kudos to her.

The original idea was to make constructs out of source assets cuz there was a TON of them and convertion was easier then making them out of whole cloth. As a fan of GLTAS...the reuse of props bothered me...but I also knew making new assets was a pain and expensive. So...how hard could it be?

HA! Dumb Moon...REAL dumb.

I had NO idea it would take 2 years to crack the construct riddle (in between 2 jobs, lawsuits, health issues etc...). It was kind scary since even expert Source guys like Argodeamon for example came up with stuff like render twice. Valve guys said what I was looking for was impossible and I was going to have to settle for totally opaque constructs only...which as any lantern fan knows, can sometimes lessen the effect you want.

Then I stumbled over some long forgotten models in SFM and started experimenting...

...and after solving it and using it in a couple of pieces and showing the script to a few people...using it isn't so...straight forward (OOPS).

I showed and the script part the first question was 'how to use'...

Doh! Moon forgets that he need to inform on every detail, not just show a wall of text. BAD MOON!

So...since I intended to share this trick with and I've realized that I need to make a tutorial...and I should cuz the SFM community as a whole has given me SOOOO much help for free...I should return as best I can.
